Climate Change Reports by Date
Reports 1 - 10 of 485State of the Birds: 2010 Report on Climate Change
- Climate change threatens species in many different ecosystems.
AB32: Analysis of the Net Impact On California Jobs
- Analysis of the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006 (AB 32). "In our response, we briefly summarize the basic provisions of AB 32 and its planned implementation through the California Air Resources Board's (CARB's) Scoping Plan (SP), discuss the avenues by which the SP would potentially affect California jobs, and present the jobs-related effects of the SP as estimated by CARB. We then comment on CARBs analysis and offer our own view about how the SP might affect jobs."
Literature Synthesis on Climate Change Implications for Reclamations Water Resources
- Reviews projected effects on the runoff and surface water supplies, flood control, hydropower, fisheries and wildlife, surface water quality, groundwater, and water demand in the West.
State and Local Climate and Energy Program
- "EPA's State and Local Climate and Energy Program provides technical assistance, analytical tools, and outreach support to state, local, and tribal governments." Includes advice on reducing emissions, case studies, GHG inventories, climate action plans.
Climatic context and ecological implications of summer fog decline in the coast redwood region
- "By using a long-term index of daily maximum land temperatures, we infer a 33% reduction in fog frequency since the early 20th century. We present tree physiological data suggesting that coast redwood and other ecosystems along the United States west coast may be increasingly drought stressed under a summer climate of reduced fog frequency and greater evaporative demand."
NOAA Climate Services (Climate.gov)
- Includes datasets, reports, videos and articles about scientists' research, fact sheets and presentations, educational resources
Climate Ready Water Utilities Working Group
- Developing recommendations for utilities' mitigation and adaptation strategies for climate change. Extensive bibliography of references.
Contributions of Stratospheric Water Vapor to Decadal Changes in the Rate of Global Warming
- "Stratospheric water vapor concentrations decreased by about 10% after the year 2000. Here, we show that this acted to slow the rate of increase in global surface temperature over 2000 to 2009 by about 25% compared to that which would have occurred due only to carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. More limited data suggest that stratospheric water vapor probably increased between 1980 and 2000, which would have enhanced the decadal rate of surface warming during the 1990s by about 30% compared to estimates neglecting this change. These findings show that stratospheric water vapor represents an important driver of decadal global surface climate change." (Solomon, S., 2010, Science)
